Terms of Service

Welcome to Ejar Check (the Platform), operated by (we, us, our). These Terms of Service (Terms) govern your access to and use of the Platform, including browsing, creating an account, and submitting reviews. By accessing or using the Platform you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have full legal capacity to use the Platform and to create an account. By using the Platform you confirm that you meet these requirements.

2. What Ejar Check Is

Ejar Check is a neutral hosting platform that lets users publish and read reviews about rental properties. Reviews concern properties, not individuals. We do not author, commission, edit the substance of, or endorse any user review. Reviews express the personal views and experiences of the users who post them, not our views. We do not independently verify the truth of every statement made in a review.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for the accuracy of your registration information, for keeping your password confidential, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

4. Your Content and Conduct

You are solely and personally responsible for any content you submit, including reviews, replies, ratings, photos, and documents (Your Content). By submitting Your Content you represent and warrant that:

  • it reflects your own genuine, first-hand experience;
  • it is truthful, accurate, and not misleading;
  • it does not defame, insult, threaten, harass, or invade the privacy of any person;
  • it does not contain another person's private information, such as a national ID number, identity documents, phone number, or home details beyond what is necessary to identify the property;
  • it does not contain hate speech or content that is discriminatory, obscene, or unlawful;
  • you have the right to share any photo or document you upload, and it does not infringe anyone's rights;
  • it complies with our Content and Community Guidelines and with all applicable laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

You must not post fake, paid, retaliatory, or conflicted reviews, or reviews about a property with which you have no genuine rental relationship.

5. Licence You Grant Us

You retain ownership of Your Content. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display Your Content on and through the Platform for the purpose of operating and promoting the service. This licence ends when you delete Your Content, except for copies retained as required for legal, security, or backup purposes.

6. Verified and Unverified Reviews

Some reviews carry a Verified badge indicating that supporting documents were submitted. A Verified badge reflects only that documents were provided and reviewed; it is not a guarantee by us of the truth of the review. Unverified reviews are moderated for prohibited content but are not document-checked.

7. Moderation, Removal, and Suspension

We may, but are not obliged to, review, moderate, refuse, edit for policy compliance, or remove any content, and we may suspend or terminate any account, at our discretion and without prior notice, including where content appears to violate these Terms, the Content and Community Guidelines, or the law. We are not liable for content that remains available before we act on a report.

8. Reporting and Disputes (Notice and Takedown)

If you believe a review or other content is false, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise unlawful, you may report it using the in-app dispute or report function, or by contacting us. Please identify the content, explain why it is unlawful, and provide your contact details. We will review valid reports and take appropriate action, which may include removing content or asking the author to substantiate it. The landlord who has claimed the property a review concerns may also publicly reply to it.

9. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including its name, logo, design, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Platform without our permission.

10. Disclaimers

The Platform and all content are provided on an as-is and as-available basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that any review is accurate, complete, or reliable, that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that trust scores reflect any objective truth. Trust scores are automatically generated estimates and must not be treated as a professional, financial, or legal judgement about any person or property.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we and our owners, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, reputation, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Platform or any content on it. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Platform will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred (100) Jordanian Dinars, whichever is greater, to the extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Platform, or your breach of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

13. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Platform and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access as described in section 7. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including the content licence for retained copies, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification, will survive.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The competent courts of Amman, Jordan have jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have.
